Does anyone like to frequent the thrift stores besides me?  I've bought clothing at one thrift store - the only one around here that is very clean.  And I buy books, board games, and craft stuff and toys all the time at it.  I just picked up 5 older board games:  Monopoly Jr., Clue Jr., Sorry, Scrabble Sentence version for kids (from 1970s!), and a geography trivia game for a grand total of $2.95.  If I bought them retail, they would probably have cost closer to $30.00.  I homeschool, and games like these are really great learning tools too.

Anyone else like thrift stores?

I do, I do!  I definetly thrift for clothing, not so much dishes or such.  And for books as well.

Oh yes. I buy children's clothes and toys, look for valuables, and pick up awesome deals. I can't get out to them as often as I like because the double stroller doesn't navigate well through such little stores. Sad

My room mate does a lot of shopping at thrift stores and really enjoys it. She and her grandmother have found some great deals.

I just went last night and bought 4 like new pairs of jeans for my sons, 10 books for them, a 'new' coffee pot that will fit my machine (it broke a couple of days ago and I'm missing my coffee!) and a bag of balls of yarn for just $8.50.  You can't beat that.  It's like treasure hunting almost.

I have tried, but most of them around here are just kind of thrown together, with no rhyme or reason when it comes to sizes and such for clothes.  With two toddlers, I can't spend the time sifting through stuff like that.

I'm right there with you. Sad It's so hard with wee ones. Maybe one of these weekends I'll leave them with the husband and run out on a "treasure hunt", LOL.
